From a Seed to Soulmates

From a seed to soulmatesThey found each other in that oh so romantic way, dating apps! On their first date he took her to sushi, she loved his wit and his smile, he thought she was hot! From there they went to a comedy show because they love to laugh, and hiking for their love of all things living. On a hillside trail she let him steal his first kiss.Over the course of the next several months he stole many more on further flung trails at the base giant mountains and under the canopy of ancient trees.She worked on a new career and gained new hobbies. She learned to love the Chavez Ravine and the boys in blue. She became quite accustomed to great cooking, especially breakfast.He learned about patience and calm and how to be more supportive and empathetic. He became intimately aware of mental health and got a lot better at cooking for two.She gained rock and a sturdy shoulder to lay her head on.He gained somebody to confide in and somebody to truly care about.Together they formed a love for birds and plants and pups and nieces and Europe. Together they will continue to grow and love each other and the family that will add rings to the tree.

One of these is not like the other! They may not look like they match but sometimes opposites attract. Brooke is cool when Lindsay is on fire, she is calm when Lindsay is wild, she is the glue that holds this Snaer family together. Lindsay admires Brookes calm sense of self, quiet strong will, and luscious long lashes ;) Even though they are very different and have a significant age gap, Lindsay considers Brooke to be not just a sister but a close friend and someone she looks up to. A sister is often a default maid of honor, in this case there could be no better match.

Brooke

The XO of the ship, Taylor and Joey go back into the yesteryears. Whether it's backpacking, skateboarding, snowboarding, or general tomfoolery Taylor is ride or die. Headstrong, assertive, and boldness disguises a laid back and funny guy. He is THE best man. Keep an eye out for a couple of cute flower girls, they are his doing.

Taylor

Lindsay and Kylie grew up together, spending much of their time here, in Palm Desert. As the younger cousin, Kylie looked up to Lindsay and always wanted to play. A child no longer, Kylie has grown into a beautiful, intelligent young woman who always has a witty remark and sly smile. Watch out fellas, here she comes!

He's taken ladies! Christopher R Anderson is a soft spoken kind fellow who always has Joey's back. He doesn't keep a handicap but he will almost undoubtably take you to school on the golf course. 

Chris

Ah college, a time of learning, growing, and discovery. Also a time for going to battle with your roommate over, basketball, or dishes, or rent, or screen looking in Halo, or whatever. He may act tough but Jacob is a kinda man, a proud papa, and one of a kind.

Jacob

Visible for miles, Andrew is Joey's oldest friend. Joey is really lucky to have gotten in on the Andrew stock early. Andrew makes friends quickly. He's an open book, an easy hang, and a total dork. Although both have grown up, together they act like children to this day. Cats not included.

Andrew

Have you ever sat with the same person for 12-14 hours a day for weeks on end? I have, and only every once in a while do I want to kill him. Sean, by a large margin, is responsible for more laughs, more headaches, more dinners in strange cities, more breakfast burritos on early mornings, more stress and anxiety, and more good times in good company than anybody else for Joey. Are you looking for a good hang? Find this guy, nobody lives like him.

Sean

"Sometimes it's hard to make friends when you grow up," is not something you would ever say if you had ever met Juan. Joey met Juan when Joey was in high school working at ATK in the summer. But they really became friends at work years later. Juan is larger than life, especially his heart. You may not know him but you'll never forget him. 

Juan

Sometimes when you're down on life, having a hard time, and not sure of yourself, it can be difficult to make friends. It can feel awkward, lonely, and scary. Lindsay was in such a place when she met Ivie. Ivie was the right person to run into. Through thick and thin times Ivie has been a steadfast friend and loyal companion. She even spent a short stint as a roommate, though Joey hogged Lindsay for most of that time. Whether they are going out dancing, watching Love is Blind on the couch, or debating the finer points of astrology, Ivie holds a very close and special place in Lindsay's heart. 

Ivie

Everybody should have a Megan in their lives, somebody who is calm, easy to confide in, fun to laugh with, and a joy to be around. She is the glue that holds Joey's friend group from childhood together. I go way back with Megan, kindergarten to be exact, and I think she is the person I talk to the most in the whole world, aside from Lindsay of course. Extra points for being one of Lindsay's favorites!

Megan

Dating apps do not have a high success rate. Lindsay proves that wrong! Between Joey and Mary her success rate on the apps is high! Lindsay met Mary on Bumble friends, the only two people to ever succeed at that. The algorithm works for they are two peas in a pod. Mary is charming and lovable and matches Lindsay's girly energy and upbeat attitude.

Mary

Becca knows a different Lindsay, a wild child! Through thick and thin Becca has always been there for Lindsay. Even though living far apart can be difficult that kind of devotion has fostered a close and supportive friendship through the years. If you want cute puppy photos don't be afraid to ask for them!

Becca

Johnny! Since they were a wee lad and lass Lindsay and John have been so very close. From silly childhood games, to mischievous antics these two have always been there for one another. John has grown into a smart, iron willed young man, who is always laughing and finding the silver lining in life. Lindsay is inspired by John's steadfast resolve and motivating insights on life. If you want great advice, ask John! More machine now than man, John can still kick Joey's butt at golf.

John

Many years ago, at her own wedding, Joey described Katy as a hurricane. That is not to say that she is destructive or full of hot air. Katy is a force of nature that alters all the lives that she enters. Limitlessly kind, a sharp tongue and a sharp mind, silly, charming, wise, assertive, powerful, what else can be said about an amazing sister and sister to be. Keep an eye out for the little brown haired peanut amongst the flower girls. That one belongs to her.

Katy

Look at this guy! He's so official, so wise, so adult like. Professor Papa Doc Sogg Dog, as he is known amongst the high society of Valencia is going to marry us! What qualifies him you ask? How about decades of experience in standup, teaching todays bright-eyed youth, and writing many jokes for Joey at the 8th grade talent show that he still goes to for easy laughs. Not enough? How about being one of the most honest, wise, and well spoken friends Joey has. When Lindsay and I were talking about who should do the honors it was really no contest. A husband and father himself, we entrust the process to a friend we love who has a family we admire. Lead the way, Professor.

Travel and Hotels info found here. There are many more places to stay in the area. This is where the room blocks are though so get em while they are hot!

Come on down to the desert! There are four ways to get here, five if you want to hitch hike... 1. Fly into Palm Springs International Airport (PSP). It is a half hour drive from the airport to the hotels. Probably your most straight forward approach.2. Fly to LAX. For you out of towners I imagine this is the most economical option. Once at LAX I am sure a friendly Adelman can help you. There is also a flyaway bus that will take you to Union Station that can get you on your way to option 3.3. Drive from LA. If you're a local this is your most likely scenario. It's a quick (3 or so hours) cruise down the 10. I'm lumping you San Diegans into this category. I have no idea how roads work south of the Orange Curtain.4. Train/Bus. Amtrack is your friend! From the Fullerton Amtrack station you can hop on the dedicated Palm Desert Amtrack bus. it will drop you off at the SunLine Bus Stop at Town Center Square. From there a taxi or ride share can get you the rest of the way.

Welcome to Coachella Valley! It's the desert in October. So it could be HOT, it could be COLD, and it could be PERFECT! Please check the forecast before arrival. There is lots to do around here so buckle up:First and foremost there is an amazing wedding to attend on October 24th, hope you will all be there.Aside from that there is hiking, shopping, golf, inside and outside activities, and restaurants as far as the eye can see...

Golf

A note on golf. Many courses are still seeding and getting ready for the fall rush. We are ever so slightly off season so please check availability ahead of time. You must invite Joey and Lindsay to your round though they will likely graciously decline due to being extremely busy.

Hiking

Want to rough it before or after the main event? There is a 10,000 foot range in elevation from the bottom of the Coachella valley floor to the highest peaks of the San Jacinto Mountains to the west. Enjoy palm oases, stoic Joshua trees, and dramatic peaks. Careful out there, it's hot and dry so pack water and sunscreen. Also please shower before the ceremony. Much appreciated.

Dining

Enjoy the best food the desert has to offer. From authentic Mexican cuisine at our local favorite, Guillermo's, to the Instagram friendly Pink Cabana, to brunch at Wilma and Freida's Cafe, there is sure to be something to fill you up after your long travel day.
